This Little Piggy Went to Market

After much mental debate over the small amount of produce I had ready, and the inevitable cool temperatures and rain, I decided that despite these two things, I HAD to go to the market.  After a taste on Wednesday, I couldn't hold myself back.

Friday night meant picking lettuce and spinach, and picking, washing and wrapping radishes.  Here they are laid out after being washed, ready to bundle.

The market was a huge success.  I knew I'd sell out early and guess what! I was the ONLY one with radishes!  Return customers told me they were happy to see me, and I said the same.  It's nice to know people haven't forgotten and that they looked forward to buying my food.  It was great chatting with my vendor neighbours and feeling the energy.  It rained all morning, but a tent and rainsuit was all that was needed.

Some photos from the morning.

My little table.  It'll get bigger as the season goes on.

Spinach.  I sell it in 300g bag.
The same with leaf lettuce.  The Shepherds mom usually has way too much rhubarb, so she picks it for me to sell as well.

I brought some daffodils to fill the table.
It rained all day.  After watching some lamb births I thought I'd make the banana bread Erica posted on Itzy's Kitchen.  It's not her recipe, but you'll find the link to it here at One Frugal Foodie.  I did add 1/4 cup raw sugar, and substituted the coconut oil for canola oil.  I didn't add nuts or fruit.  I took some out to the barns, The Shepherd, his dad and their worker thought it was great!  I did too!  You would never know this is a much healthier version of other banana bread recipes.

My first piece.  How can you not melt butter on fresh warm bread?
It was a great great day.  And it isn't over yet.  Happy Saturday and Happy Weekend!
