New Pilates Class

A pretty good Monday.

Started out with vanilla yogurt, Kashi Flax...I can never remember the name of this cereal, and blueberries.  Tasty!
In the morning, I had a mix of dragon fruit, mango and passion fruit.
Later,  half of an apple Lara bar.  I know I said I'm not buying Lara bars anymore.  Well, Costco had a great deal, and they really ARE good...and I don't have time to be making my own right now, so I will be buying them.  I like them.
My lunches have been a bit boring and repetitive, but tasty.  A wg english muffin, toasted with Laughing Cow cheese, and a salad.  I do enjoy this lunch.

In the afternoon I ate the other half of the Lara bar and some cottage cheese.
After my usual workout, I started a new class.  Prenatal Pilates.  All I can say is totally dissapointing.  I wasn't expecting the same workout as my core classes, I went in with what I thought were realistic expectations, but I could have got the same workout doing a few stretches on my living room floor and walking around the house a couple of times.  I will give it a few more weeks.

Has anyone done a prenatal pilates class?  What did you think?  Can you tell me about it if you did?

After class I had a pumpkin pie Kashi bar.

Dinner was  a bit boring too, an Yves veggie burger, no bun, spinach, hot peppers and zucchini relish.
Then, I crashed on the couch...but not before a great bowl of chocolate frozen yogurt.

  1. Sorry to hear that Pilates was less than thrilling. I love going, but I've never done a pre natal class. HA! I imagine that would be a lot more gentle. I would think that maybe the instructor started the class off "light" and will add more to the routine each week.

  2. I need to pick up some English Muffins- I always forget how tasty they are. I bought some cottage cheese...I just can't do the texture! Oh well- worth the shot ;) Sorry to hear the pilates was a let down.

  3. Jessica-in answer to your question-it's a daily struggle, honestly! I am at the point where maternity clothes are too big and my regular clothes no longer fit. I don't have the "baby bump" yet, and just look like I've gained extra weight. Because of this, it's a struggle to keep positive. I keep reminding myself that at the end of all this, there will be a baby, and that I will be able to lose the weight again with time and patience. Just remember that there is a baby growing inside of you, and that all of this discomfort will be worth it. I completely understand about being on "day three" of the same pants!! I'm so glad you commented on my post-feel free to e-mail any time at abinns3142@aol.com.

  4. I haven't tried pilates, but my sister-in-law just gave me a pregnancy pilates DVD. I need to give it a try. But I've always been such a cardio nut, I get impatient with yoga, pilates, and strength training. Bad, I know.

  5. I have never tried that kind of pilates (obviously I'm not expecting lol) But...if you can do it at home yourself...could save some $$$ lol. Sorry it was sorta a let down :(

I agree that larabars are too good to pass up! Especially when you can get them for cheap!

  7. I used to love pilates but it is very expensive here in LA! So I do a DVD once in a while. When I was pregnant I did pretty much everything at my normal pace because all the prenatal stuff was too slow for me....kickboxing, running, yoga. I felt really good at the end because of it!

  8. Is your cereal perhaps called Kashi GoLean Crunch Honey Almond Flax? =P That is my favorite kind! And that dragon fruit looks so interesting. I must try it asap!

  9. I've never done any prenatal classes but I did a lot of videos with my first kiddo. Honestly, I think vigorous exercise is frowned upon by doctors during pregnancy. Moderate gentle exercise is good... Which is why I think prenatal stuff is SO slow, boring, and easy.

I know people "still" do stuff they did before they were pregnant and end up fine. You just never know I guess. I worked out heavily with my first and ended up breaking my water at 24 weeks. They weren't sure if it was due to exercise. You just don't know what's going on in there ya know?

  10. Dragonfruit looks so cool! I'd love to try it if I only knew where to find such a thing

Sorry about the pilates class. I'm guessing since it's prenatal that they're realllyyyy cautious

  11. Sorry you didn't enjoy the Pilates class. I only took a prenatal yoga class, and it was a lot less of a workout than I would have thought...
